Google my business

With so many of our small business customers, colleagues, friends and family being affected by the current health situation, we are trying to give advice where we can, when we can.  We have recently seen this advice given by Google and thought we would share with you…

If your business has a Google My Business (GMB) page, you will benefit from the recent advice that Google has published regarding what businesses should do with their GMB listing if they are affected by Covid-19.

To help customers, businesses affected are encouraged to update their GMB profile with the most accurate information including:

Updating your business hours so customers know when to contact you

Updating your business description to explain whether of not your business operation is affected by COVID-19, how it has been affected, what changes have occurred I the way that you operate and what precautions your business is taking.

Publishing posts to share details of what is going on with your business through Google posts.

I don’t currently have a Google My Business page – what is it and how do I set one up?

GMB is a free tool that lets you manage how your business appears on Google Search and Maps. That includes adding your business name, location, adding photos, and learning where and how people are searching for you.  It is also a popular, third-party platform for collecting, monitoring and replying to customer reviews.

With lots of customers at home, browsing the internet with time on their hands, it is a great opportunity for your business to build up its online reputation ready for when customer spending power bounces back.

If you are not already on Google My Business, make sure you get yourself set up by following this handy step by step guide on how to set up Google My Business and request your customers to review your business.

If we can support you in anyway at this time please do not hesitate to contact us we’d be happy to chat with you.
